What are your hours?

We are open Sunday to Thursday 12pm to 9pm.
Friday & Saturday 12pm to 11pm. We are located in Santa Monica, California.

How does the Player One VR experience compare to other Competition on the Market?

We are the leader in true 5k VR free roam motion capture with a full immersion. The experience is completely realistic without any lag times or delays in such that you will achieve an out of this world experience. We have curated our games selections to only bring you the best in the world. If our staff doesn’t recommend it, it will not appear as an option.

Do you have a minimum age requirement?

All of our experiences utilize equipment that are recommended by some of the manufacturers for ages 10 and up.  We understand that technology is a big part of younger kids' lives and most kids are more than capable of using the equipment, so we do allow ages 6 and up at parent/guardian's discretion and consent. For guests under 18 years old, a parent/guardian must be physically present in the store during the session to sign a minor waiver form. 

How many players can play at the same time?

That depends on the VR Experience you choose. You can see on every experience page how many players can participate at the same time. Depending on the game, the number of players are 1 to 8. The games are a social experience so we highly recommend at least 2 players. Do you accept walk-ins?

We recommend booking your experience online to secure your reservation. We do accept walk-ins based on availability and only accept payment via credit card. For last minute reservations you can call or text us at 323-443-2000 to confirm availability.

Will I be playing with other people, or just my group?

We have four rooms of Free Roam VR with capacity of 4-8 players. Unless you book a private time, all of our Free Roam VR may have other players coming into experience the game as well.

HEALTH & SAFETY

What's your cleaning and sanitization process?

We prioritize the health, safety, and cleaning procedures at Player One VR World. We use Cleanbox proprietary and patented engineering of UVC LED eliminates 99.999% of pathogens on the surfaces of all our devices in just 1 minute. In addition, we add disinfectants to clean and disinfect all equipment after every use. Every player is given a Disposable Hygiene Mask mask prior to wearing any VR Headset, this helps prevent the transfer of sweat, hair, and cosmetics from user to product, or between users

What about Covid safety procedures?

We have multiple Free Roam VR Rooms in which there are safety zones from you and other players, in addition to the ability to separate different groups from each other with multiple rooms.

How do players avoid hitting each other or the wall?

Using real time motion capture technology, our cameras track your entire body in real time to see other players in your group and their movement. In addition, alerts will be sent out to all players to alert them if they are too close to any hard objects or walls. There are clear boundaries in the game to prevent you from exiting the game area. The game will pause should any player move too much into any area they should not cross.

Is there motion sickness?

Most people will not experience any motion sickness because you are in free roam with no lags or delays and are actually physically walking around instead of using buttons to move in the game. Motion sickness is caused by a difference between your actual and perceived motion. The motion capture technology tracks you in real-time, your real movements translate to your perceived movements. In addition, the same goes with single player pods in which you would “teleport” using buttons.

 

The 360 degree Virtual Ride and 9D Motorcycle may slightly affect some people because they mimic real life rides. These rides are 5-7 minutes in time and can be stopped at any time.

What are your physical requirements? Can a person in a wheelchair play?

There are no weight limits with the Free Roam games, but the 360 Degree Ride, Motorcycle, and Treadmill has a maximum of 270lb limit.

 

To be comfortable, guests must be at least 46” (1.16m) tall.

 

Our facility is wheelchair accessible and complies with all city, state, and federal requirements.
Wheelchair users can ride the 360 Degree Rides & Motorcycles as long as they are able to fit in the seating arrangement. In addition, our individual pods can accommodate all wheelchair guests. Our Free Roam games require the ability to move freely, our safety system is unable to safely accommodate wheelchair users during group play.

 

Be sure to consult your doctor before visiting us if you have pre-existing serious medical conditions (heart conditionst), conditions that affect your ability to safely perform physical activities (pregnancy), psychiatric conditions (such as anxiety disorders or post-traumatic stress disorder), or photosensitive epilepsy.

BOOKING & PRICING

Is it possible to change or cancel a reservation?

Cancellation policy

  • Cancellations at least 72 hours before your scheduled booking will be issued a full refund to the original payment method or a gift voucher to be applied to a future booking
  • Cancellations between 24-72 hours of your booking, you will be charged a $50 fee with the balance of your payment issued to a gift certificate to be applied to a future booking
  • Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance or no shows on the day of will not be refunded

Changes to the booking are not guaranteed and are subject to availability of the requested time change. Please reach out to the store directly for opportunities to make changes to your booking.

How do I book for a large group?

What payment methods do you accept?

We only accept credit card or apple pay payments, we do not have cash on-site.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. Gift cards can be purchased via our website and in store.

 

For E-Gift Card, all Sales are Final. Gift cards are nonrefundable. Lost, misplaced or stolen gift cards are non-refundable, replaceable, nor valid. Gift cards are redeemable at the monetary value.

Is there any bad weather arrangement?

Rain or Shine, the games will proceed. Should there be any extreme weather conditions which require the store to be closed, a concierge host will call you to reschedule.

THE EXPERIENCE

When should I arrive? What is your late policy?

Please do not be late, your time slot is reserved exclusively for you. You must check in at the store with the store host 15-30 minutes prior to your booking time. We cannot start until your whole party is present. Please account for traffic, parking, and time it takes to walk to store from parking when planning arrival. We have a strict 5 minute grace period policy for your reservation.

  • Guests who arrive less than 5 minutes late for the booking time, the experience will be shortened
  • To ensure our other guest booking are not impacted, any tardiness beyond 5 minutes will result in a cancellation of your booking, a $50 fee and the rest of your initial payment will be issued to a voucher that can be applied to a future booking.
  • No-shows will incur automatic cancellation of your booking and 100% forfeiture of all payments
Parking

We are located at 1515 4th St Santa Monica, CA 90401, across the street from Santa Monica Place Mall.  There are 90 Minutes free parking at parking lot located at Ken Edwards Center (1527 4th St, Santa Monica, CA 90401) and Parking Structure 7 (350 Broadway, Santa Monica, CA 90401).

What should I wear?

This is an active experience, so wear something that won’t restrict your ability to move around the space. Wear light, comfortable clothing, and closed toe shoes such as tennis shoes. Some games may have ankle & wrist trackers.

Can I wear glasses?

Contact lenses are recommended, but you can wear glasses comfortably with our VR Headsets.

How long is the experience?

Please plan for a total of about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours for your experience consisting of

  • Arrival to check in with your host(ess) 15-30 minutes prior to your booking time to ensure your experience does not get cut short
  • This will consist of about 15 minutes of training and setup
  • About 30-60 minutes in the VR experience
  • Another 15 minutes post booking reliving your experience with cinematic video highlights with your team as the stars!
  • In addition, as an a la carte option, you can hop on one of our 360 Degree VR Rides or Motorcycle 9D Experience.
Is photo-taking allowed?

Definitely! We are a social experience company and would love for you to share your experience with your friends and family. Please ask your game master to take photos and videos of you during the session. Follow and tag us at #playeronevrworld @playeronevrworld

Waiver

Our guests are required to sign a general waiver which can be signed and completed online, or in store. Any guests between the ages of 13 – 17 may come unaccompanied, but must have their waivers signed by a parent, or legal guardian of the minor. Any guests under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian of the minor.

Security & Belongings

Since we are mostly a reservations based facility, we have an entry door buzzer for enhanced security. We also have locked storage areas for your personal belongings.

Do you have snacks & drinks on site?

Yes, we have a vending machine that serves drinks and snacks. You are welcome to bring your own food, snacks & drinks. In addition, we have a microwave and refrigerate on site. We can even store your cake frozen or refrigerated.

Is there an area for parents with wifi access for work?

Yes, we have fast guest wifi and many seating area lounges to work or relax while you wait. In addition, we are across from the Santa Monica Place Mall.
